What: A Community Paddle to welcome the incredible Salmon Source to Sea team to Lewiston, ID!
When: June 11, 2022. 11am to 2pm
Where: Hells Gate State Park, 5100 Hells Gate Rd, Lewiston, ID 83501
Join us for a community paddle on June 11th, 11-2pm. Launch from Asotin at 11am, or greet Paddlers and Tribal canoes at Hells Gate State Park. We will gather to welcome the Salmon Source to Sea paddlers in Lewiston, ID on their way to the sea and hear from incredible speakers!
The women will travel over 1,000 miles, following the natural migration path of anadromous fish from the rivers of central Idaho to the Pacific Ocean. This incredible team of women have skied and paddled from the Salmon River as a conservation campaign promoting the removal of the four lower Snake River dams necessary to #StopSalmonExtinction. You can learn more about their journey and mission at salmonsourcetosea.com.
This community paddle has two float options. Set your own shuttle and float with the Source to Sea paddlers and Tribal canoes from Asotin to Hells Gate, or meet the paddlers on the water and launch from Hells Gate. We encourage attendees to bring some food and join us for a picnic while enjoying a day on the water, socializing, and hearing from speakers.
If you plan on paddling with us, don’t forget your essentials. Life jacket, snacks and water, a change of clothes, sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses! The put-in for Asotin is at the Asotin Slough (Snake River Rd, Asotin, WA 99402). The launch from Hells Gate is at the boat ramp. Paddlers are encouraged to arrive at 10:30am to prepare for an 11am launch. Can’t wait to see you out there!
